Skating is a fashion sport just like any other recreational activity. During its inception, riders wore tight clothes that were both practical and reflected the time period. Baggy clothing became popular in the 90s, but it seems that modern skateboard clothing has come full circle to be tight-fitting and durable.

• GlobeA durable pair of jeans is a skater’s best friend. It’s always recommended to wear safety pads. Not very many riders appreciate the bulkiness of them, but strong jeans will protect legs from scratches or those inevitable tumbles. Skating is inherently dangerous, but most riders forego bulky pads to allow more limb-movement.
